Coupons to Troops

I found a wonderful organization that is helping our troops, Coupons To Troops.


Did you know that overseas military families are able to use coupons that are expired, up to 6 months past their expiration? 

Coupons to Troops' goal is to to get coupons right into the hands of those military families as quickly as possible.  Coupons to Troops will match you to a family overseas that needs your coupons.  You don't mail your coupons to someone who sorts them and then sends them overseas, you mail them directly to the family that needs them.  This gets the coupons in their hands faster!

And you'll know that your coupons are being received and that they are appreciated since you have that one-on-one contact with the family you are sending to.  And best of all, there is no additional cost to send the coupons directly overseas, as it is the same exact postage cost as if you were mailing across town.

Donate School Supplies to kids in need!

 Luxury Living, Frugal Style is having a Backpack Party to gather school supplies for students that can't afford them.  These supplies will go to students in East Stroudsburg, PA and surrounding areas.

If you live in the area you can go to the party and drop off your supplies!
When: August 20th 2011
Where: tentative set for Dansbury Park in East Stroudsburg Pa
Time:4pm-6pm
Goal: To provide 600 children with their back to school needs so they can succeed this school year!!

I got 3 packs of free pens this weekend from Publix and Target.  I'll be getting some of the 9c folders at Walgreens this week as filler items. 

But I don't have a kid in school yet (and I can only use so many pens!)

Starting in August, e-Labels for Education program will be expanding to include more retailers than ever before! I love knowing that I am helping my kids school while getting great food for the kiddos!

I just found an organization called Care Packages for our Troops and their Families, who put together care packages to send overseas to soldiers and their families who are living on overseas bases.

They are collecting coupons to help offset the cost of the items in the care packages. They currently spend $150-$200/month on items to go in care packages. With coupons, they can stretch this amount further.

They can use any kinds of coupons:

• Cleaning supply coupons for care packages for the medical units
• Dog food, treats and toy coupons for the K-9 units
• Snack, drink mix and hygiene item coupons for the soldiers

They also send coupons of ALL kinds in the care packages going to the families on base for them to use at the stores on the base. The great thing about overseas bases, is that coupons can be as much as 6 months expired and still be usuable!

So if you want to start sending your expired coupons (instead of just throwing them away!) to help our troops you can send them to:
