Funny Coupon Experience (an odd place to find a coupon!)

So Sunday we went to my father-in-law's church.  Since it's a bit of a drive from our house, he took us out to lunch afterward.  We went to Cracker Barrel (mmmmmmmm....chicken and dumplings!)

Anyway, Hubs order a sausage biscuit platter and asked for mustard.  They brought him a bottle of French's Mustard.  A minute or so later, I noticed something and started smiling.  Hubs said, "What?"

"There's a coupon on your mustard bottle," I said.

"Well, get it off," he said.

So I did.  :)))

That has to be the most unusual place I have ever found a coupon before!  (Not that it was on the bottle, but that the bottle was at a restaurant!)

See more coupons in odd places.

The 20 Most Frugal Cities in America - Did you make the list?

Here is an interesting article on the 20 most frugal cities in America.  The list was compiled based on which zip codes were most used on Coupons.com.   (Which really, is a incomplete picture of "frugal" and slightly skewed, because who of us has not input a different zip code to get coupons that don't show up under our own?)

Regardless, the findings showed that Atlanta was the most frugal city but Ohio is the most frugal state because 3 of the cities in the top 20 are in Ohio (North Carolina was the only other state to have more than one - it had two.)  Seattle was the only city from the West Coast to make the list. The most frugal region?  The South!

Here are the top 20 cities.  Did your city make the list?  I'd love to hear from you!
  1. Atlanta
  2. Tampa
  3. Cincinnati
  4. St. Louis
  5. Minneapolis
  6. Charlotte
  7. Nashville
  8. Cleveland
  9. Pittsburgh
  10. Raleigh
  11. Kansas City
  12. Washington, D.C.
  13. Miami
  14. Dallas
  15. Oklahoma City
  16. Boston
  17. Denver
  18. Seattle
  19. Columbus, Ohio
  20. Wichita, Kansas

Amazing Video! A man and his lions!

This has nothing to do with being frugal, but I seriously watched this video three times last night!  It's incredible!  If you've got two minutes, you should watch this!

This is hilarious!  See How to Gift Wrap a Cat!  If you've ever owned a cat, you'll totally understand!

All About Me - Day 23 - A Youtube video

I knew this one was coming up.  I honestly had no idea what to do for this post because I don't use Youtube.

Then one night, I remember this video:

Swagger Wagon

If you've never watched it, you MUST!  In fact, I had to watch it again so I could laugh!  :)))

I love parties!

I love throwing parties!  Birthdays, weddings, baby showers...whatever....if it's a party, I love it!

You may have noticed a lot of guest posts this week.  It's because I'm getting ready for the big birthday bash for my son this weekend.

It's a train themed party so I was so excited when this idea popped into my head!  Train crossing sign cookies!!!!!

Just wanted to share these with you.  I used sugar cookie mix and iced them with cream cheese frosting and used a tube of black decorator icing to make the design.

Fun Stuff: Baby Look-alike Meter

I've always said my child looks more like me.  Now I have proof.  :)

A website called My Heritage has this cute little gadget called the Baby Look-alike Meter.  It takes about a minute to create an account.  The all you have to do is upload the pictures, do a little drag-and-drop to tell it which face belongs to which person, and it compares them and determines who your child looks more like.  It was a fun 5 minutes.  Well, actually 10...I did it a couple times with different pictures.  :)  My results varied between 4% like me and 12% like me.

Frugal Food Tips

I found this incrediably cool website that helps can help you find recipes based on what you have in your stockpile or fridge that you need to use!  I had made a big pot of frozen black eyed peas and we were tired of them but I didn't know what to do besides throw them out.

I searched for "What to do with leftover black-eyed peas" (on Swagbucks, of course!) and I found this website here.

You enter 1, 2 or 3 ingredients that you need to use and "Voila!"  Recipes appear!  I have so many ideas for black eyed peas now.  I never thought of black eyed peas as an ingredient before, only a side dish!

I see this as a useful tool to prevent wasting food!
