Baby Shower Gifts on a budget

How does a budget savvy person shop for baby gifts? By shopping even when you don't need a baby gift. Walgreens diapers for $2.99? I'll take 4 packs thank-you-very-much. Onesies for a dollar on the clearance rack at Target and Walmart? I'll take one in every size!

I am all about keeping things on hand for gifts. And baby showers are no exception! A couple cute outfits, some diapers and wipes, or bath stuff make a great gift and there's nothing wrong with getting it at a bargain!

My sis-in-law is having a baby in July and I've been buying like a crazy person since we found out! Even though this is her fifth baby, we are all so stinkin' excited that she's having a BOY this time, that we are throwing a baby shower today! Here's everything I'm taking to the shower and I'm going to tell you how much I paid for it all! (Want to go ahead and take a guess now?)

When it comes to saving money, no amount is too small. When you find a money saving tip that works for you, run with it! All those little savings add up.

Today's tip is making your own baby wipes!

Make your own baby wipes
Take a roll of paper towels and cut in half. Remove cardboard core after cutting. Place in empty wipes tub. Pour in two cups baby oil and one cup water. Close container and let sit until mixture has seeped into the paper towels. Feed center of paper towels through hole in the lid. Done! You should be able to make two boxes of wipes for under $4!

Low prices on baby cribs at Baby Crib Station

When we bought Bug's crib, we got the transition one - you know, crib, toddler bed, twin size head/foot board all-in-one. But I always assumed that whatever "transition" he was in when we had another baby, we'd turn it back into a crib and just get him another bed. Little did I know that our crib was going to be recalled for faulty drop-side railing tracks. So...we're still using it, for a toddler bed. But it can never be a crib again.

So that means, one day (not anytime soon, mind you) we will have to shop for another crib. As if it weren't mind-boggling enough the first time!
