Locals: Trussville Food World is going out of business

The Trussville Food World store is going out of business.  I was in there today.

Meats, refrigerated items and frozen foods are 10-20% off.

Spices are 40% off.

Greeting cards, gift bags, wraps etc are 75% off!!  (I picked some greeting cards for 25-50c!)

Beer and wine is 15% off.

Everything else (canned goods, dry goods, general merchandise, books, paper products, pet products, baby food, diapers, etc) are 20% off.

They are NOT accepting coupons anymore.  :(((

I picked up some store brand (Best Yet) canned goods at a good price.  (Refried Beans for 62c).  I got some greeting cards and gift bags for a GREAT price!  I also got some cake decorating stuff for 20% off. (Needed for the birthday party next weekend!)

Other than that, I didn't see anything that was a great deal since the 20% off is off the normal (high) price.  Even the 20% off diapers wasn't a good deal since a jumbo pack of Huggies is over $11 regularly.

I was told that discounts will increase every Wednesday - on 10/20 the discounts should be 30-50%.  As the discounts increase, the selection will dwindle but if you're vigilant, you might be able to snag a good deal or two!

Try Sam's Club for FREE August 6-8!

Don't forget, you can get in Sam's Club and shop without a membership card (and without the 10% added to non-members orders) this weekend only, August 6th - 8th.

This coincides nicely with the tax free weekend in some states this weekend (Alabama included!)

Sam's club usually has a large selection of clothes.  Might be a nice place to check out some cheap (and potentially tax free) jeans and tees for back to school!

FREE Admission to the Anniston Museum of Natural History - AUGUST 4th!

I know, it's short notice.  But TOMORROW, August 4th, admission to the Anniston Museum of Natural History is FREE!

I have LOVED the Anniston Museum of Natural History since I was a kid.  They even have MUMMIES!

I took my daycare kids a few weeks ago.  They've added a new room (and by new, I mean, it wasn't there the last time I was there...which has been a few years...) that is very hands-on and kid-friendly.  My group of 5 year olds easily entertained themselves in that one room for over half an hour!

Tuesday's Treat - A Play Place, Trussville, AL

This one if for the locals.  There is a new place in Trussville, AL called A Play Place.  It's a HUGE indoor playground with commercial grade equipment, an infant/toddler area, a bounce house and FREE air hockey and arcade games!

They have "open play" times and can be rented for parties.

It's $8 per child.  Kids under 2 and parents are free with a paying child.

And this is my favorite part: outside food and drink are allowed in the eating area!  Pack a lunch and bring it for your play day or have pizza delivered to your party!

I haven't taken Bug yet but we will be checking it out VERY soon!  I can't wait!
