The all-new Timmy Time: Picture Day! comes to DVD June 28, 2011 from Lionsgate and HIT Entertainment just in time for back to school. “Snapshot Timmy” - It’s time for the class photo, but Timmy just cannot keep himself clean – jumping into puddles, kicking muddy footballs and getting splattered by jam sandwiches!
“Timmy Wants The Blues” - Timmy is having a blue day, collecting all the blue toys, blue cushions and blue paint. But when it comes to painting a picture, he quickly discovers he’s going to need more than just one color!
“Timmy Wants The Drum” - During a music lesson, Timmy decides he wants to play the drum! But when it is given to Yabba, and a triangle to Timmy, he goes about trying to get the drum for himself...
“Timmy’s Puppet” - On his way to preschool, Timmy’s homemade sock-puppet falls out of his backpack. Poor Timmy doesn’t realize until he arrives to see everyone playing with their own puppets! Crestfallen, he begins an unsuccessful search until Harriet offers to help him make a new one.
“Timmy The Builder” - Following Otus’s example, the class begin building dens for themselves. Otus offers to help Timmy with his, but Timmy’s pride gets the better of him – he can do this on his own! However, the little lamb soon has to admit that two heads may be better than one...

Reading books about going back to school, "playing" school, and making sure we do alot of coloring and learning to keep their minds fresh. My 5 year old will go into 1st grade and my 2 1/2 year old is going into 3k...so she also has to be completely potty trained, and we've been working hard on that! We also go to the library for their summer reading program. They can earn credits for school too, so that gives them something else to look forward to when school starts!

Well to get my preschooler ready for school I have to go about it different than most parents. My preschooler,Troy, has severe classic autism so to get him ready for school we break out his p.e.c.s cards (picture exchange card system) and we give him a couple new cards with his new school on them,his new teachers and helpers,plus pictures of the bus he will ride and his new bus driver. We go over these pictures several times a day and talk about them to him so that he may become a little more familiar with them and hopefully easing some of the stresses of transitioning to a new school. :)
ReplyDeleteMy son doesn't have preschool yet, but he has speech class at the grade school and rides the bus for that. To get him ready for that it was explained to him what would happen so that he wouldn't be scared (he's a very shy boy). He already knows the principal and some of the teachers and is in a classroom setting for his speech class. As for when preschool time arrives, I will do the same thing of explaining what he might expect.

I, of course, made my poor child wear a dress for her first day of school even though they wore uniforms. Lol. She still reminds me how cruel that was. Dad, daughter, and I all went to school together that day, took tons of pictures, and all cried. Lol. We worried and asked tons of questions but daughter was ready to go. I had taught her everything they learned that year so she just breezed through.
